lincoln 77,000 jabs given to Metro students
MANILAlincoln, Philippines — Over 77,000 doses of vaccines against infectious diseases have been administered to public school students in Metro Manila, the Department of Health (DOH) reported over the weekend.
DOH data showed that 23,263 measles rubella (MR) and 23,276 tetanus diphtheria (TD) vaccines were given to Grade 1 students.
Up to 10,402 MR and 10,372 TD doses were allocated to Grade 7 students.
The DOH provided 9,738 doses of human papillomavirus vaccine to female Grade 4 students.
Free vaccines were administered to students as part of the DOH’s school-based immunization program, which was institutionalized in 2015 but was halted due to the pandemic.
In October, the DOH re-launched the vaccination campaign covering students in Grades 1, 4 and 7 nationwide.
The DOH will mount a catch-up campaign next week to inoculate students who missed their jabs.lincoln
