MANILA, Philippines — Twenty people reportedly died in the Bicol Region due to the effects of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami), police said on Thursday.
These deaths, however, are still up for validation, according to the Police Regional Office (PRO) 5.

To aid affected communities, the Bicol police deployed 942 personnel, who already catered to 226,531 individuals within the region.
According to the latest report of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, Kristine has so far affected over two million individuals nationwide.
The state weather bureau said Kristine was last monitored over the coastal waters of Santa Cruz, Ilocos Sur. It carries maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and a gustiness of up to 145 kph.
